Across our diverse network, we have had the pleasure of hosting events with many community members, health advocates, and leaders in research regarding women, HIV, and health. 

Beginning in Spring of 2023, the Hub has hosted series of Hub Talks in addition to Sub-Hub led events.

Past Hub Talk Events

The Mentoring Future Leaders: Insights and Dialogue sessions feature established leaders in women's health who share mentorship insights, their career journeys, and pearls of wisdom, followed by audience discussion and  Q&A. 

 

The Frameworks, Values & Rights series offers an opportunity for experts to teach about the core frameworks and values of the Women-Centred HIV Care Hub including their application to women's health and the realms of research, academia, medicine, and community spaces.

 

The Activating Equity in Health Research (on AEHR) talks present a podcast-style session where one to two guest experts share their perspectives, applications, and future steps in advancing equity in health research.

The Clinical Talks series provides a space for candid conversation around clinical topics related to the field of women, HIV, and health. The discussions are led by clinical researchers and health care providers, beginning with an informative presentation on the topic and closing with an open Q&A to spotlight community concer

Past Hub KM Events

While 'Hub Talk' events are organized by the WCHC Hub's 'Hub Central' team, Hub KM Events can be hosted by any Hub member and can occur outside of the set Friday schedule. These events often feature special collaborations with sub-hubs or AIDS service organizations (ASOs) in the local area.

Money Talks: Learn & Grow

From November 12th 2025 - With the Alberta Sub-Hub and HIV Edmonton

Join the Alberta Sub-Hub for an in-person event at HIV Edmonton, focused on building habits and skills for a strong financial future. It will be a supportive space to learn some budgeting basics, including tips on how to build wealth, consolidate debt, and navigate financial planning!

Our Health, Our Power: Advancing PrEP Equity for Black Women

Join the WCHC Hub and WHAI for a joint event hosted as part of WHAI's Lunch & Learn virtual special event series! This event will share a new and upcoming Hub resource for community members and how it can be used to support women living with HIV in improving health outcomes and communication with their care providers.

Join us for authentic conversations around self-esteem, health, and mental wellness, complemented with special art and wellness sessions with other community members!

Leaving No One Behind: Racialized Women's Progress Towards Sustainable Development

From March 12th - With the African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) Women's Sub-Hub and the Women's Health In Women's Hands CHC

The ACB Sub-hub organized a panel presentation, including a session entitled "Towards 2030: Advancing HIV Prevention, treatment and care for Black Women in Canada." The session was held as part of the NGO Forum during the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.​ The session addressed the importance of gendered perspective in measuring the impact of HIV/STBBIs.

Celebrate Love Positive Women 2025 with a day of learning and self-love with the Alberta Sub-Hub, including presentations, makeovers, and dreamcatcher crafting!
